The Magical world of Kristina Stephenson
Puppet Design and Makers
We were first contacted by children’s author and illustrator Kristina Stephenson, back in 2019 and commissioned to create a rather fabulous bear, for her latest book release ‘Why are there so many books about bears?’
“What a team! Becky and Paul are extremely talented, very lovely people who are an utter joy to work with.
From the outset they took the time to fully understand my wishes and the brief I gave them. They communicated with me through every stage of the creation process with conversations, 3D images and models and, despite the horribly tight deadline I gave them, they translated my drawings and wishes into the most exquisite puppet. Not only was it visually perfect, it also proved easy to operate and is built so well that I know it will endure much touring. It has already delighted many audiences and will continue to do so. I am planning my next venture with Stitches and Glue and cannot recommend them highly enough.”
This cemented a fantastic working relationship, and the Stitches and Glue team have continued to support Kristina in the launch of her very own Theatre company, ‘Practically Perfect Pictures’ providing numerous additional puppet characters for her follow-up successes
